Old Google Voice Account: Importance and Management

Old Google Voice accounts can be very valuable for both personal and business purposes. They may contain important call logs, voice mails, text messages, and even verification codes or official communication history. Therefore, if an old Google Voice account has not been used for a long time, it is very important to reactivate it and ensure its security.

First, check whether your old Gmail or Google account is still active. Because Google Voice is basically linked to a Gmail account. If you can log in, go to the Google Voice page (voice.google.com) and check if your number is still assigned. Sometimes, Google reactivates the number if it has been inactive for a long time. If this happens, you will have to claim a new number.

Update security in the second step: change your password, enable two-step verification (copyright), and update your recovery email and phone number. This will reduce the risk of account theft or hacking in the future.

If you have any important voicemails or messages on your old Google Voice account, back them up or export them to another email/drive. You can also download the entire data using Google Takeout.

Please note — buying and selling old or verified Google Voice accounts is strictly prohibited and is a direct violation of Google's Terms of Service. Buying or using such accounts carries legal and security risks, such as account bans, personal data leaks, or the possibility of identity theft.

Finally, if you want to use multiple Google Voice numbers (such as for business or teams), you can use Google Workspace Voice (the official and legal version). It comes with secure and administrative controls for business management, call routing, and log storage.
